From the NY Times:

When Randall Stephenson, AT&T’s chief executive, spoke about the state of the wireless industry at a conference this week, he shared some surprisingly frank comments about the iPhone.

If AT&T hadn’t offered unlimited data, it would have been able to get people who used more data to pay up for it, as opposed to having the light data users subsidize the heavy ones, he said.

“My only regret was how we introduced pricing in the beginning, because how did we introduce pricing? Thirty dollars and you get all you can eat,” he said…“And it’s a variable cost model. Every additional megabyte you use in this network, I have to invest capital.”

Oprah apologizes for TV tweets

Oprah Winfrey has issued an apology for breaking TV ratings rules and urging fans to watch her show “Oprah’s Next Chapter” show during the Grammy Awards telecast on Sunday.
The TV titan took to Twitter and invited followers to change the channel to her OWN network. She wrote, “Every1 who can please turn to OWN especially if u have a Nielsen box.” During a commercial break later, she added, “Commercial Grammy people..u can turn to OWN.” Ratings compilers at Nielsen weren’t from amused seeing the plea as a violation of their policy. Winfrey’s tweets were later removed.

In a statement to The New York Times, Winfrey said, ”I removed the tweet at the request of Nielsen. I intended no harm and apologize for the reference.
